Fraud Prevention and Security
Certain personal data may be processed to detect fraudulent activities, secure payments and protect the website, customer accounts and transactions.
Legal basis: LAUREN VIDAL's legitimate interest and, where applicable, compliance with a legal obligation.
Sending Marketing Emails
Where your consent is required, LAUREN VIDAL uses your email address to send you news, collections, inspiration, exclusive offers and special communications.
For customers who have previously purchased a product from LAUREN VIDAL, certain communications relating to similar products or services may be sent in accordance with applicable regulations. You may object to receiving such communications easily and free of charge both at the time your data is collected and through every email you receive. Simply creating an account without placing an order does not constitute an existing customer relationship for the purposes of benefiting from this exception, in accordance with CNIL guidance.
Legal basis: consent or, for certain communications sent to existing customers regarding similar products or services, legitimate interest together with your right to object.
Sending SMS or WhatsApp Communications
When you provide your telephone number and tick the relevant consent box, LAUREN VIDAL may send you offers, news and invitations by SMS.
Consent to receive SMS communications is separate from your subscription to email communications. It results from a clear affirmative action and is never pre-selected. You may withdraw your consent at any time, including by replying STOP to messages where this functionality is available. Prior consent is the general rule applicable to B2C electronic marketing communications.
Legal basis: consent.
Email Open Tracking
Where you have given your consent, LAUREN VIDAL may measure whether its emails have been opened by means of a tracking pixel.
This processing is separate from your subscription to marketing communications. You may therefore continue to receive LAUREN VIDAL emails while refusing email open tracking. In Klaviyo, consent for email open tracking is technically separate from marketing consent. Changing this preference does not affect your email subscription status.
Legal basis: prior consent.
Personalisation, Analytics and Advertising Cookies
Cookies that are not strictly necessary are placed only in accordance with the choices you make in the cookie preference manager.
Legal basis: consent.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
Cookies that are essential for the operation of the website, security, shopping cart functionality or order processing may be used without your consent where they meet the exemption conditions provided for by applicable regulations.
Legal basis: technical necessity, performance of the requested service and the legal regime applicable to strictly necessary tracking technologies.
6. Subscription to Email Communications
When you choose to receive LAUREN VIDAL communications, your email address is used to send you, in particular:
- our new collections;
- inspiration and editorial content;
- promotional offers;
- invitations;
- exclusive communications;
- information relating to your subscription.
Your subscription to marketing communications is separate from your choice regarding email open tracking.
You may, at any time:
- update your preferences;
- refuse or withdraw your consent to email open tracking;
- unsubscribe from marketing communications.
7. Double Opt-In Subscription Confirmation
For certain subscriptions, LAUREN VIDAL uses a double opt-in process.
This process works as follows:
- You enter your email address in a subscription form;
- A confirmation email is sent to you;
- You click the confirmation button or link;
- Your subscription is confirmed once this confirmation has been completed.
This procedure ensures that the email address has been entered correctly and that its owner genuinely wishes to receive communications from LAUREN VIDAL.
Until you have confirmed your subscription, you will not be permanently added to the relevant mailing list and you should not receive the corresponding welcome email series. In Klaviyo, only confirmation through the double opt-in process results in your addition to the mailing list and triggers the welcome flow.
The double opt-in process confirms your subscription to our communications. It does not, by itself, constitute consent to email open tracking.
8. Email Open Tracking and Tracking Pixels
What is a tracking pixel?
A tracking pixel is a very small resource embedded in an email. When this resource is loaded by your email application, it may enable us to determine whether the email has been opened.
Where you have consented to this tracking, the following information may be recorded:
- whether the email was opened or not;
- the date and time the email was opened;
- the relevant email campaign;
- the associated email address;
- limited technical information relating to your email application or device, depending on the data actually transmitted.
Why do we use email open tracking?
With your consent, this information may enable LAUREN VIDAL to:
- evaluate the performance of its communications;
- better understand the overall engagement of its audience;
- improve the relevance of its content;
- reasonably adjust the frequency of communications;
- avoid sending excessive communications.
Your choice remains entirely yours
You may choose to:
- consent to email open tracking;
- receive LAUREN VIDAL emails without email open tracking.
Refusing email open tracking:
- does not unsubscribe you from our communications;
- does not affect your customer account;
- does not affect your orders;
- does not affect your benefits;
- does not affect your welcome offer or welcome code;
- does not restrict your access to the website or our collections.
Consent cannot be inferred from your silence or inaction. The CNIL recommends that accepting and refusing consent should be presented in an equally simple manner and that, where consent is required, the absence of any action should be treated as a refusal.
Withdrawing your consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time.
The withdrawal of your consent will apply to future email opens only. Tracking pixels associated with withdrawn consent must no longer be used, and any data previously collected must be deleted unless another legal basis justifies its retention.
Withdrawing your consent to email open tracking does not affect your subscription to marketing emails.
9. Where Can You Manage Your Preferences?
In the footer of every marketing email
LAUREN VIDAL marketing emails contain several separate links.
Manage my preferences
This link allows you to access your personal preference centre and update the choices available regarding LAUREN VIDAL communications.
Receive my emails without email open tracking
This link allows you to refuse or withdraw your consent to email open tracking while remaining subscribed to LAUREN VIDAL communications.
Unsubscribe
This link allows you to stop receiving marketing emails.
Privacy Policy
This link allows you to consult this Privacy Policy at any time.
A single preference centre may include these different options, provided that exercising them remains simple, quick and does not require unnecessary steps. Withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving it.
From subscription forms (POP-IN)
LAUREN VIDAL subscription forms present the following choices separately:
- subscription to email communications;
- your choice regarding email open tracking;
- consent to receive SMS communications where a telephone number is requested.
No consent box is pre-selected by default.
From the cookie preference manager
Your cookie preferences for the website may be updated at any time through the cookie preference manager available on the website.
Your website cookie preferences and your choice regarding tracking pixels in emails are two separate mechanisms. Changing one does not automatically modify the other.
By contacting LAUREN VIDAL
You may also request to modify or withdraw your consent by writing to:

These cookies enable us to analyse how the website is used and to measure its performance.

Advertising Cookies
These cookies may be used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns or to provide you with advertising tailored to your interests.
Cookies that are not strictly necessary are subject to your consent. You may accept, refuse or modify your preferences at any time through the cookie preference manager.
11. Recipients of Personal Data
To the extent necessary for the performance of their duties, your personal data may be shared with:
- authorised LAUREN VIDAL personnel;
- Shopify and technical service providers supporting the online store;
- Klaviyo for the management of emails, mailing lists, preferences and consents;
- payment service providers;
- carriers and logistics partners;
- customer service providers;
- SMS service providers;
- analytics and advertising service providers, depending on your choices;
- hosting and security providers;
- advisers, auditors and insurers where necessary;
- administrative or judicial authorities where required by law.
These recipients have access only to the personal data necessary for the performance of their duties. Where they act as data processors, they process your personal data in accordance with LAUREN VIDAL's instructions and their contractual obligations.
The list of service providers may change in order to meet the brand's technical and operational requirements.
12. Transfers Outside the European Economic Area
Certain service providers may process or host personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Where such transfers take place, LAUREN VIDAL ensures that they rely on a transfer mechanism recognised under the GDPR, including:
- an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission;
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;
- supplementary contractual, technical or organisational safeguards;
- any other legally recognised transfer mechanism.
13. Data Retention Periods
LAUREN VIDAL retains your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. It may subsequently be archived where required by law or where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Customer Account
Customer account data is retained for as long as the account remains active. An inactive account may be deactivated after a period of two years without any action by the account holder, subject to any data that must be retained to comply with legal obligations or protect legal rights. The CNIL recommends identifying inactive accounts after a period of two years from the user's last activity.
Orders and Contractual Relationship
Personal data required for order management is retained for the duration of the contractual relationship and subsequently archived for the applicable statutory limitation and legal retention periods.
Invoices and Accounting Records
Invoices and accounting records are retained for ten years from the end of the relevant financial year, in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
Marketing Data – Existing Customers
Personal data used for marketing purposes may be retained throughout the commercial relationship and for three years following the end of that relationship.
Marketing Data – Individuals Who Have Not Placed an Order
Such personal data may be retained for three years from the date of collection or from the individual's last contact with LAUREN VIDAL.
Unsubscribes and Objections
The information strictly necessary to permanently record an objection may be retained for a minimum period of three years on a suppression list. It is not used for any other purpose.
Consent Records and Evidence
Records demonstrating consent, including its content, date, source, amendments and withdrawal, are retained for as long as necessary to manage consent and demonstrate compliance with LAUREN VIDAL's legal obligations.
Email Open Tracking Preferences
Your choice to accept or refuse email open tracking is recorded in order to avoid requesting your preference with every email. Where you refuse tracking, LAUREN VIDAL avoids requesting your consent again too frequently. Refraining from making a new request for at least six months is considered good practice by the CNIL.
Customer Service
Customer service communications are retained for the time necessary to process your request and subsequently for the period required to manage any potential dispute.
Cookies
The retention period for each cookie depends on its purpose and nature. The applicable duration is indicated in the cookie preference manager or in the information provided when your preferences are collected.
14. Data Security
LAUREN VIDAL implements technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the personal data processed and the identified risks, including:
- restricting access to authorised personnel;
- managing access rights;
- user authentication;
- securing communications;
- encryption where appropriate;
- data backups;
- system monitoring;
- fraud prevention measures;
- contractual commitments with service providers;
- incident management procedures.
Despite these measures, no system can guarantee absolute security. LAUREN VIDAL regularly updates its security measures to reflect changes in risks and technological developments.
15. Your Rights
In accordance with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés), you have the following rights, subject to the applicable legal conditions:
- the right of access to your personal data;
- the right to rectification;
- the right to erasure;
- the right to restriction of processing;
- the right to object;
- the right to data portability;
- the right to withdraw your consent at any time;
- the right to provide instructions regarding the handling of your personal data after your death;
- the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
The withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before such withdrawal.
Unsubscribing from marketing communications and refusing email open tracking are two separate choices:
- unsubscribing stops the delivery of marketing emails;
- refusing email open tracking allows you to continue receiving marketing emails without future email opens being recorded.
